Healthy Cereal. How to find the healthiest cereal for you!

How to know if your cereal is healthy:

➡ Cereal should be made from whole grains. The first ingredient should be whole grain wheat. Sprouted wheat is even healthier!

➡ There should be no more than 10g of sugar per serving.

➡ BHT should be avoided! It’s a preservative commonly added to cereals. However, tocopherols is a preservative that’s healthier. It’s made from Vitamin E.

➡ There should be at least 3 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per serving. That’s what keeps you full.

➡ Tip: Generally the healthy cereals are the unsweetened cereals (like grape nuts). To make it tastier for you or your kids to eat, add a teaspoon or two of a natural sweetener. You can add stevia, monk fruit sweetener or coconut sugar to make it more appealing.

➡ There shouldn’t be canola oil or any hydronated oils added to your cereal.

➡ Avoid following ingredients in your cereal: corn syrup, maltodextrin (preservative not good for your gut) , dextrose, and canola oil

➡ Non-GMO is recommended
