Yo’s Froyo Bites

Healthy & Tasty Kosher Bites

Yo’s has been in the works for many years now. Haskell, CEO of Yo’s Froyo Bites, has been experimenting with different methods, flavors, and ingredients from all around the world. All in efforts to give you a delicious tasting freeze dried frozen yogurt bite.

It all started...

While living in the Poconos mountains, finding new things to eat at the local shops were part of the adventure. Haskell came across freeze dried astronaut ice cream and was intrigued. While eating some frozen yogurt, he decided to experiment and freeze dry it. In 2015, he bought himself a freeze dryer and before you know it, the prototype of Yo’s Froyo Bites was born.

There’s 99% chance you don’t realize quite how much work goes into creating Yo’s Froyo Bites. Here are the main steps that occur to create your delicious batch of Yo’s Froyo Bites.

Dairy Processor

the search for a dairy processor

Oh, bet you just thought it was easy peasy to get a good tasting milk, huh? That may just not be the story! For Haskell, going from one dairy processor to another, covering practically all that exists in America, he found the perfect one. His standards included one that’ll be in California, therefore, the cows will be raised amidst the sunny weather. And you know the popular saying; “happy cows make some very good froyo bites.” The farm is also a sustainable farm, their feed and electricity comes from solar panels. Even behind the scenes, Haskell is producing froyo bites with a refined and respectful manner.

Worldwide Fruit

organic tasty, real fruit

fruit from around the world

fruit from around the world

The fruit found in your froyo bites is found from all around the world! Even with a shortage of berries that are grown in Canada as a result of a heatwave, Haskell made sure to still get them for the flavoring. The apricots come from Turkey, the mangos are from India and the strawberries are grown in Canada. See the fruit map, where all the fruit in your froyo bites come from over here!

Mixing Time

Once Haskell has got the fruit from around the world and the milk from the happy cows, he begins to mix the ingredients. Creating a beautifully tasty puree. The coloring from the puree comes from only natural fruit. Haskell is a role model to other snacks in the food industry. Yo’s Froyo Bites go the extra mile to flavor their snacks with real organic fruit.

Molds Done Right

precision.

molding to perfection

molding to perfection

When it comes to the molds of his froyo bites, Haskell makes sure they come perfect! Yo’s Froyo Bites have a unique shape, one that’ll resemble a real froyo in a cup. He does extensive experimentation to find and test the right molds. He starts by filling each individual mold with a froyo fruit puree and then places that in the freezer. After 24 hours, he takes the froyo bites out of the freezer and places them into a freeze dryer to remove all the water. Each froyo bite has gone through a tremendous amount of perfection and work.

Freeze Drying

experimenting all sorts of things

freeze drying

For 5 years, Haskell has been experimenting with freeze drying. He got many at-home freeze dryers to perfect the froyo bites. You may not realize, but freeze drying frozen froyo bites, ain’t an easy feat! His freeze drying method removes all the water from the froyo yogurt, so you’re left with perfect froyo bites. Haskell explained that at hotter temperatures, the humidity will affect the froyo bites. They’d melt easier and be harder to work with. Haskell created a genius system where, no matter the weather, he’s able to maintain the froyo bites’ shape and perfection.

Quintessential Froyo

the flawless froyo shape

the flawless froyo shape

Haskell wanted to make sure it’s clear to people that what you’re eating, are froyo bites. By making the shape of each bite, a mini froyo, it’ll be utterly clear to the customers that what you’re eating is actually freeze dried froyo. That’s why the tip has a curve and undercuts, to make it look as relatable as possible.

Packaging

high quality and sleek

the ins and outs of packaging

the ins and outs of packaging

Being that air carries moisture, getting a packaging that’ll sustain the freeze dried froyo bites is a very important task. Yo’s Froyo Bites are packaged in a metalized packaging, which doesn’t allow moisture to get in and thus keeps the bites fresher and crunchy for a very long time.

Being that the metallized packaging aren’t recyclable or sustainable, Haskell has thought of getting the packages sent back to him, in order to use the material to create other things.

And as for the exterior of the packaging, Haskell has nailed it!

Yo’s Froyo Bites took a lot of determination and resilience to create. We’re excited for the launch in a few months!
